Placements are simply run like a practice—they will help determine which team(s) your son/daughter(s) are on. Again, we follow the USASF age guidelines and are generally reluctant to move athletes ―up‖ be- fore they should be. It is very important especially for the younger aged athletes to have their year on the team as the oldest and as one of the ―best‖. This help sets the pace for them to always push themselves and will also ensure their love for the sport continues.
We have in the past bumped athletes up at the request of parents—only for those athletes to get over- whelmed, not like it and quit. Everyone likes and enjoy to do things they are good at—the same goes for cheerleading. The higher the age group, the higher our expectations are.
NEW IN 2011/2012—if you feel we have placed your child lower then where she should be for her maturity and skill level. It can be challenged, The athlete will have to fill out a form then coaches will advise the athlete and parents what they need to work on. If in August the athlete has met these goals and coaches are satisfied they will do well on that particular team the athlete may be given the option to be a crossover athlete. We feel this will encourage athletes to train hard during the summer and of course meet their goals. Please note that once coaches have made their decision in August, that deci- sion Is final. It is not because we do not like your son or daughter, it is because we have their and the teams best interests in mind.
